Which check-list does GyörökGép use for test runs?

When is a machine installation considered successful and closed? As one of the last steps, we carry out a test run to check that the machine is working properly so that production can start as soon as possible.

Anomalies can also occur when installing machines and equipment, and it is even possible that the production equipment arrived damaged from the start, and the fault was inside the machine, so even GyörökGép’s experienced staff could not have noticed it. Therefore, failure to carry out a test run is essential and can be considered grossly negligent.

Why is a test run necessary?

After machine installation comes the test run, which both the owner and the installation company have an interest in completing. During the test run, either the team appointed by the owner or the employees of GyörökGép check the machines and equipment for defects in functions and features. The aim is to identify and eliminate faults. If the test run is carried out by the owner’s team, the GyörökGép team will carry out the repair of any problems identified. Remember, correcting any faults found during the test run is not the same as fully implementing the safety measures required for normal day-to-day operation. If everything on the production line has worked perfectly, production can start.

GyörökGép staff also carefully plan the safe test run

Most of the health and safety measures required during production should be taken during the test run. Therefore, the client has to deal with these issues when the GyörökGép staff are still installing and commissioning the production line. This is because the lack of this will hamper the test run. Therefore, once the installation is completed, GyörökGép experts are of course available to help you make the necessary adjustments to ensure that the test run can be carried out without delay and without any problems. In order to ensure that the machine or equipment can be operated safely, GyörökGép staff will first define the sequence of activities, work procedures and protective measures to minimise risks.

What are they?
These are technical, organisational or measures relating to the staff responsible for operating the machine or equipment.
Let’s look at them in more detail:

  • Definition of the trial run process
  • Hazards and risks assessment
  • Identification and designation of hazardous areasr
  • Identification of protective measures
  • If included in the contract, training of employees, including checking the qualifications of employees
  • Designation of the person responsible for first aid and provision of escape routes

Who provides the checklist during the test run?

To ensure the success of the test run, GyörökGép staff use a checklist. The checklist is always machine-specific, either provided to GyörökGép by the manufacturer of the machine or equipment, or developed by GyörökGép staff based on their own experience. In many cases, the test/test run is carried out under the supervision of a supervisor sent by the manufacturer. If a malfunction occurs during the test run, it is quickly corrected by GyörökGép colleagues and testing continues. In the case of smaller machines and equipment, the test run is carried out by GyörökGepgép’s colleagues alone.

What else is being tested by GyörökGép staff during the test run?

Of course, during the test run, GyörökGép staff not only go through the checklist provided by the machine manufacturer, but also, thanks to their decades of experience, inspect every detail of the machine and equipment. What are they? For example, if a machine line is pneumatically or hydraulically controlled, the equipment must be tested with this technology in mind. But the stability of the machine is checked, whether the equipment is levelled and fixed exactly in place, whether all components are installed, whether the electrical wiring is correctly connected, whether the current can be disconnected quickly and professionally, whether the connecting cables are not a tripping hazard, whether there is a danger from passing traffic, whether the machine does not leak dangerous substances, what the noise level is, whether the machine is handled in the most ergonomic conditions, etc. But they also suggest if there is inadequate lighting above the production line.

If necessary, the GyörökGép staff will investigate and rectify any adjustment options for problems encountered during the test run, and if necessary, come up with special solutions to get production up and running as quickly as possible.
